Outstanding Chapter Award

awardribon 1It is with great pleasure that we announce that the IEEE Computer Society Student Chapter of the University of Patras was awarded with the "Outstanding Chapter Award" of the IEEE Computer Society, for the excellent, high-quality work of the chapter during 2012 in providing the best overall set of programs and activities for local members and prospective computing/IT student members.

With nearly 85,000 members, the IEEE Computer Society is the largest organization of professionals in the world of computing. Founded in 1946, is the largest of the 38 IEEE Societies, concerning information technology and to promote the theory and application of computer technology and information.

The IEEE Computer Society Student Chapters offer the opportunity for members of the Computer Society, at the local level to network with colleagues, business development, professional development, and to share experiences through exchange of knowledge. The IEEE Computer Society has over 375 chapters, both teachers and students.

The first Games Expo ever held in Greece, organized by IEEE Student Branch and the IEEE Computer Society Student Chapter at the University of Patras came to an end.
More than 1000 people from all over Greece, students, researchers and game developers Hellenic companies attended the one day dedicated to Gaming.

We want to thank the Corallia and HTC for their contribution to the conduct of the event and the sponsors, supporters and sponsors of the Games Expo 2012, which helped greatly to its success.
We also have to thank  Andrew Cowboy Derdemezi a stunning presence and the collaboration we had.

IEEE Computer Society Student Chapter in collaboration with the IEEE Student Branch of University of Patras is organizing the first Greek Games Expo in the city of Patras.
